The B.C. Peace Agri Weather Network provides weather information and decision support tools for B.C. Peace agricultural producers. These include real-time, site-specific weather updates, historical weather data as well as various tools to help farmers optimize their crop production.
What We Did
The goal of this project was to improve the user experience, optimize usability across devices, enhance information accuracy, and add numerous tools that were crucial to the needs of agricultural producers. Our team built an app that displays live weather updates from stations in the B.C. Peace Region and aggregated the data into relevant statistics such as growing degree days and historical station data. Users are also able to create an account to access and save information as well as receive alerts for their specified region. These enhancements improved the user experience, saved time, and improved decision-making accuracy for producers within the B.C. Peace Region.
