Big Bear Software Awarded Province-Wide Contract By GoByBike BC Society

In November 2019 Big Bear Software was awarded the contract to build a new platform for GoByBike BC Society, a province-wide initiative with events held annually encouraging as many people and as many communities as possible to enjoy their bicycles for everyday transportation.

Bike to Work Week and Bike to Work Society, now renamed Bike to Work & School Week and GoByBike BC Society due to both its growth over the years and an effort to be more inclusive of all cyclists. This event has grown from a single event in one community with 500 participants to over 55,000 riders across the province this past year. What started as a core group of commuter cyclists now includes groups big and small, children, families and seniors.

“We were searching for a creative, innovative and passionate company to help us develop a new website and provide online event registration and data collection (the “GoByBike App”). I am so impressed at how quickly Big Bear Software understood our vision for our website and GoByBike App, and just how critical the usability is to the overall success of our campaign. The App enables participants to register and report their results; it captures important data required by funders; and is used to engage participants, team leaders, coordinators, contracted staff, board members and sponsors.”
– Terri-Lynn Gifford, Provincial Program Manager, GoByBike BC Society

Big Bear Software is proud to be a Provincial Sponsor of the 2020 GoByBike BC event series, “it’s exactly the type of project we like to attract, to have an opportunity to build software solutions for organizations that benefit many and serve a common purpose, in this case getting our communities thinking about transit by bike, and being more active throughout the year.”
-Keith MacIntyre, CEO, Big Bear Software.

The Bike to Work & School Week events encourage all British Columbians to convert time spent sitting into time spent being active, getting healthy, decreasing their carbon footprint and getting involved in community activities.

Terri-Lynn states “In 2020, We hope to motivate more than 60,000 British Columbians to register, log bike trips, and save more than 750,000 kilograms of greenhouse gases throughout the course of our events!”

Keith adds, “I’m thrilled that we have been chosen to develop GoByBike BC’s new platform that will be easy for riders and community coordinators to connect and use while providing great data to show how more British Columbians are riding their bikes than ever before. Bike to Work & School Week is one of my favourite events of the year, I love how it gets me on my bike early in the season and the community aspect of seeing friends at all the stations around the city is great”.

Big Bear Software Wins Large Alberta HealthTech Software Contract

In September 2019 Big Bear Software was awarded the contract for the Integrated Management Platform to Accelerate Clinical Trials (IMPACT)with Innovate Calgary at the Life Sciences Innovation Hub at the University of Calgary.

Big Bear Software is also a Silver Sponsor at the Future of Health Cancer Care Forum on October 18th in Kelowna where we can help apply our cross industry software expertise to make purposeful, impactful change.

IMPACT is a program for new ventures in the life sciences or biomedical industries who seek to commercialize their health-related inventions, conduct clinical trials, and secure regulatory approval.

The IMPACT Venture Navigators work with the venture to design, support, execute, and report on their clinical trials, including connecting the venture with a Principle Investigator.

Located at the Life Sciences Innovation Hub, IMPACT is supported by Innovate Calgary and offers unparalleled access to research space (office, wet and dry labs, prototype maker space), entrepreneurial and business development programming, mentorship, and connections to local experts, facilities and resources.

The Life Sciences Innovation Hub at the University of Calgary is a facility designed to build and grow promising life science-based companies. This initiative was made in part through generous contributions from our community to help deliver commercial value from research-intensive activities.

Activated by Innovate Calgary, the LSI Hub is a place where students, researchers, startups and growing companies can access a variety of resources to advance their life science-based company.

We are enthusiastic to be working with the IMPACT team to help Healthtech companies navigate the FDA, Health Canada and EU regulatory processes faster. We started our company in Alberta and this gives us the opportunity to expand our existing Calgary team by several people. We are excited to be helping innovative companies bring their products to market faster – Keith MacIntyre, CEO, Big Bear Software

Our medical division has been growing, working with QHR technologies earlier in the year, building a medical product for a local company, and we’re in discussions with other Healthtech companies. I recently attended the BioNet Alberta conference in Lethbridge and I see many areas we can use our almost 2 decades of experience building custom software to help solve Healthtech issues. We’re pleased to be a sponsor at the Future of Health Forum –  Amy Fink, COO, Big Bear Software

I am excited to work with Big Bear Software to offer ventures who are working with IMPACT a more intuitive, automated, and streamlined approach to regulatory management of their clinical trials. A much needed improvement in this space.” – Michelle Nelson, Venture Navigator, IMPACT
